A two axis tracker is basically a moving billboard which follows the sun as it moves through the sky each day. Two axis trackers tend to produce 35-45% more energy than a fixed system. Trackers should be placed in areas where there are no shading concerns to maximize production I.E. Farmers fields or even parking lots. Trackers are more expensive then a fixed system but have a higher production. Ret Screen software (A renewable energy analysis software created by National Resources Canada) predicts a similar, and in some cases a better, Return On Investment (ROI) then Fixed solar systems. Since trackers move all the time there is some yearly maintenance of simply greasing the moving parts. We Install DEGER trackers which have been installed all over the world with more than 30, 000 installed. The DEGER tracker uses sensors to monitor where the brightest point in the sky is and points the solar panels toward that point. With this sensor the tracker can take advantage of reflections from snow as well as defused light from clouds. The DEGER tracker also has a snow dump feature which places the tracker in a vertical position so that all the snow falls off. This feature will increase production in the winter since the panels will not be covered by snow. The DEGER tracker carries a 3 year manufactures warranty and a 10 year warranty on weight bearing parts.
