Two-Axis Trackers

A two-axis tracker is a moving mount for a solar array that automatically tilts the array and turns it to follow the sun, or point the array towards the most light. The tracker may switch the panels to a horizontal position on an overcast day to get the most energy from the light in the clouds. Two-axis trackers tend to produce 30-45% more energy than a fixed system. Trackers should be placed in areas where there are no shading concerns to maximize production. ie. Farmers' fields or even parking lots. RETScreen software (A renewable energy analysis software created by National Resources Canada) predicts a similar, and in some cases a better, Return On Investment (ROI) than fixed solar systems.

We are a DEGER Energie Certified installer. We sell and install solar tracking systems which are mounting systems that follow the sun to maximize energy production and revenue. The tracker uses sensors to monitor where the brightest point in the sky is and points the solar panels toward that point. With this sensor the tracker can take advantage of reflections from water or snow as well as defused light from clouds.

Fixed Ground-Mount Systems

Fixed ground-mount systems have PV arrays mounted on a frame that is fixed to the ground and doesn't move automatically (in contrast to trackers).

They can potentially produce more energy because we can select the ideal location, orientation (azimuth), and pitch, rather than being limited to the roof. Selecting the ideal location, orientation, and pitch results in maximized energy/revenue production.
